The Teacher

Gay Kalember

Gay entered this lifetime with a profound awareness of truth and love. Inherent to this level of evolution was her longing and ability to help others, which began to manifest as a young child in the form of familial and peer guidance.  From adolescence onward, she searched for a spiritual teacher, one who could not only confirm the sacred knowings that lay within her heart, but who could also take her beyond them. She searched to no avail, even as she continued to expand her consciousness through the study of spiritual literature, and self examination.

Then, in 2003, at the age of 51, Gay was granted her greatest wish. During a late-night channeling session with her beloved friend Adrianna, her teacher, whose name is Baharah, unexpectedly revealed himself. As an ascended Master resonating in the pristine realm of the One, he promised to guide and teach Gay for the rest of her life. Through a natural unfoldment, Baharah introduced her to a new form through which truth can be felt and understood. After three years, Gay’s concentrated exploration, integration, and application of Baharah’s teachings manifested in full remembrance of her divine self within the human experience. Her transformation took her from all that was not real, into all that was real, which is the chosen reality of love.

Since early adulthood, Gay has been aware of her spirit’s longing to find a way to relieve the pain and suffering of many people in an everlasting way. In keeping with this longing, in 1987 she became a Marriage Family Therapist and a Play Therapist specializing in childhood disorders. She devoted herself to this work for 21 years. Her study with Baharah led her to realize that her longing would be better met by sharing her knowledge with others through teaching and the written word.

To that end, she finished writing her first book this year. Entitled Inviting the Heart, it chronicles her relationship with Baharah, the unfoldment of his teachings, the experiences and transformations she underwent in the process, and the far-reaching effects of the truths therein. Gay’s next literary venture will be a book solely dedicated to the presentation, understanding, and utilization of the new form, which has within it the truths, laws, and masteries given by the ethereal teachers.

In her humanness, Gay is the mother to two extraordinary beings whose purpose aligns with her own. She is currently a spiritual teacher bringing comfort to others through the utilization of her innate and channeled body of knowledge. She enjoys international travel with her family and friends, long hours at the barn with her horse Mimi, and snuggle time with her two cats Kiyia and Lily. Gay’s home in Sebastopol CA, along with her divine partner, family, friends, and pets are a reflection of her remarkable life, which is the embodiment of freedom and joy. She is a living example of what is possible when you create from the limitless world of the Heart, wherein true love reigns.

The Channel

Adrianna Kalember

Adrianna is the channel for Choose the Heart. Through her, divine information is received. She has had the gift of hearing messages from Spirit (clairaudience) since she was a child. Because she lacked understanding about the source of the voice inside her, she concealed this ability throughout her childhood, always listening to the voice but never speaking of it.

In 1985, at the age of 20, Adrianna went to Italy to stay with family for a 6 month vacation. She fell in love with the culture and her family and resided there for almost eight years. Three years into her stay, she met a man who had psychic abilities and was able to channel. From this encounter, Adrianna understood for the first time that the unique voice inside her was actually an ethereal teacher and guide. This understanding was reassuring and allowed her to establish a relationship with her guide and to hear the information given in a new way.

After Adrianna’s return to the U.S. in 1993, her life’s calling to serve God emerged and everything began to center on her calling. She became a student of A Course in Miracles and took classes pertaining to her psychic abilities so she could fine-tune her gifts and learn how to direct them. She started channeling her teacher through the medium of automatic writing and began doing readings for family and friends. Around this time, Adrianna experienced her first miraculous healing. Since her early teens, she had suffered from a stomach ulcer that required medicine on a daily basis. During a hands-on healing session from a gifted friend in which the focal point was her stomach, Adrianna unexpectedly received information on the emotional core of the physical discomfort she had experienced every day for more than 15 years. The information she received allowed for the emotional healing to begin and the physical symptoms left, never to return again.

Her second miraculous healing came in April 2000 at the holy site in Lourdes, France, where she had been going in pilgrimage as a volunteer since 1997. On this particular journey, the prayer she held steadfastly in her heart was to “see” through the eyes of Christ. The answer to that prayer came through the physical healing of the disabling tendonitis she had in her wrists, elbows, and shoulders. The chronic pain of four years was removed from her body and she was left with a miraculous gift that gave her the ability to “see” through touch (clairsentience).

This newfound “sight” combined with her clairaudience opened a wondrous new door. She began to study the intrinsic relationship between mind, body, and spirit and, by 2002, she held certification as a Reiki master and massage therapist. The readings she did for people from this point on included information received through her personal guide, the other person’s spirit, and/or the person’s body.

September 2003 saw the culmination of Adrianna’s gifts. A heavenly guide asked permission to occupy her body in order to give a personal message to her best friend, Gay Kalember, at a critical moment in Gay’s life. And so began a new medium of channeling. Ascended Master Baharah came in, offering to be Gay’s private ethereal teacher for the remainder of her life. His teachings and guidance have since brought the form of the Heart and the Mind to Earth.

In October 2003, one month after the arrival of Ascended Master Baharah, Ascended Master Andua came to Adrianna, saying that they had a shared desire of wanting to help beings remember who they really are at source. Andua works with the public through Adrianna, giving readings to those who seek to know more about their spirit’s purpose. The phenomenon of allowing Spirit to inhabit her body temporarily in order to deliver divine information has become an ordinary occurrence in Adrianna’s life, one that is extraordinary each and every time.

Adrianna utilizes her culinary degree by joyfully cooking for family and friends. She loves international travel, with a particular fondness for tropical and spiritual locations. She is a gifted manifest er, creating abundance where others see limitations and impossibilities. She enjoys a private life in Sebastopol, Ca filled with the love of her family, friends, and equine and feline companions.

The Associates

We wanted to give you a feeling for who the members of the Choose the Heart organization are, where they have come from, and where they now reside within their hearts and within their human lives.  We understand that these biographies are distinctively personal, and wanted you to know that they were created this way in order to portray each member’s humanness as well as their divine essence. 

Ian Kalember

Ian Kalember began his journey on Earth with resistance. He could not know who he was, for the greatness that lived in his Heart was too large for him to understand. As a young boy growing up, he was a “problem child.” He worked hard to fit in at school and to be liked by his peers, using his innate power in the Mind’s world instead of the Heart’s. During his teenage years, he numbed himself with alcohol and drugs, which helped facilitate his journey into pain and suffering, taking him further away from his largeness and his freedom.

In 2004, Ian made the decision to surrender to his Heart. It was then he turned to the resource that had been there for him all along—his mother, Gay. She had held the knowing of his greatness throughout his childhood with a long-standing invitation to guide him back to his true self. With her help, Ian began studying and utilizing the teachings of the Heart and the Mind, which began to transform his life. The more he understood what was real and the more he experienced of his true self, the greater his world became. The path to his freedom was filled with wonder. As the manifestations of his choices began to appear, so did his understanding of all he had deprived himself of.

Almost overnight, Ian’s world turned from fear, resistance, pain, worry, lies, and heartache to a world of love, effortlessness, abundance, and comfort. Ian’s ability to live within the chosen reality of love created many amazing experiences. In the spring of 2007, he married his soul mate, Stacy Kalember, and because she is also dedicated to a life of truth, they now experience a divine relationship. Their union has and will create many great things, the first of which is a baby boy who will be raised with the understanding that only love is real. They live in Sebastopol, California, with Ian’s brother, Sean.

Ian has maintained his professional life as a sales consultant and trainer in the insurance industry for the past eight years. He uses his employment as a place to practice the spiritual tools given to him, and to influence others by being a living example of compassionate leadership. Ian’s life is dedicated to the illumination of truth for himself and all beings. With the guidance of his ethereal and human teachers, he vigilantly studies what is true so that one day he will live in only one world, the world of the Heart. His mentor on Earth is his mother, who continues to guide him in his quest to become a great teacher and a pillar of truth and love. Ian's life intention is to bring the comfort and beauty that is in his every moment back to those that have forgotten. 

Sean Kalember

Sean was born with great knowing and a strong connection to self. He was a blissful child with a deep relationship to his mother Gay, and his brother Ian. Though he had a very social adolescence with great friendships developed, there was a sense of emptiness he felt that he had not been able to fill. He began to search outside himself for the answers and was unaware that he was slipping into the Mind’s world and creating from that space. This brought him even more loneliness and eventually rendered him numb to any feeling, which was the very opposite of what he had longed for.

Upon his invitation, Gay began teaching Sean about what was real in life. He has been studying with her for over a year now and has since transformed his life, creating from the Heart’s world that which brings him joy and abundance. The greatest outcome of his choice to live in truth has been his deep connection to self and the knowledge that lay dormant within him. Sean continues to expand into truth, which allows him to integrate effortlessly all aspects of his life into one world, the chosen reality of the Heart. Sean found what he longed for within himself.

Sean has been a sales consultant for the past five years in the insurance industry. He continues to enjoy his day job from a new place of understanding abundance and creation. It also provides him with many opportunities for growth. He takes pleasure in playing golf and is a big movie buff. More intimately, Sean has a divine relationship with Melissa Murphy, a being with whom he has a deep spiritual affinity. This extraordinary partnership brings him great joy and inspiration. Sean lives in Sebastopol, California, with his best friend and brother, Ian, his sister-in-law, Stacy, and nephew Sebastian.

Kimberly Kalember

Kimberly was born into a knowing that she would be a powerful presence in the world. Her early and promising involvement in the theaters arts suggested that it would come in the form of stardom and the life of a Hollywood icon. What she did not know was that her life’s purpose would not be found on stage, but rather through the remembrance of what is real and her authentic self. She began her spiritual quest in New York City in 1985 when she took the subway to the Town Hall for Marianne Williamson lectures. While her earlier years in the world of professional show business were effortful, they helped to facilitate her belief that self worth, fulfillment, and gratification came from outside of her.

In 1999, her choices brought her back to California where she explored a myriad of spiritual avenues, each having a singular focus of love as the true reality. Kimberly’s most significant transformation has been through her ever-evolving relationship with her sister Gay, and the teachings of Baharah and Andua. Her desire to deepen into the revolutionary work of the Heart and Mind has illuminated her core purpose, which is to help others learn how to better care for themselves through the understanding of what is real. Kimberly's devotion to the pursuit of truth has culminated in a life of love, intimacy, true family, and an experience of self unlike anything before.

Kimberly has been in the corporate world for 17 years, and is currently an executive assistant to a vice president at a community college. She has been in show business since 1969 as a professional actor, dancer, singer, and choreographer. Although her ballet shoes are dusty, she continues to dance blissfully in a tap company in Sonoma County (TAPESTRY). She lives at Fulton Farms in Sebastopol with cats Natalie and Scout.

Stacy Kalember

Since childhood, Stacy has had a profound knowing of what was right and what was real. While living in the Mind’s world, however, she began to doubt all that she knew until she could no longer feel the truth. In studying the teaching about the Heart and the Mind, she was able to understand Earth’s illusions and began to deepen into the remembrance of what is real. Her journey back to herself has illuminated her purpose and manifested a life of abundance.  Stacy's greatest longing is to continue living effortlessly in the world of the Heart where she can practice deepening into love for the rest of her life.

For the past three years, Stacy has worked as the office manager for a local law firm in Santa Rosa, California. In January of 2006, she met her soul mate and now husband, Ian Kalember. On November 22nd, 2007 they welcomed their son, Sebastian, into the world.

Melissa Murphy

Melissa’s strong capacity to love and care for others was evident as a child. Her gentle nature and inability to know and care for herself combined to create a life of disproportionate giving and self deprivation. She thought the only way to experience herself and her innate goodness was by taking care of others regardless of what that might cost her.

Melissa started working with Gay Kalember in 2007. With her teacher’s help she realized that her life was not her own. Through the exploration and study of what is real, Melissa began to choose differently. She learned that in order to truly care for others she must first care for herself. Thus began her journey of self discovery and the understanding that everything she needed resided deep within her.

Melissa’s spiritual work with her teacher manifested in many life changes, including a new residence in Sebastopol in 2007. There she joined her good friend Paige Fulton in further developing her equestrian center. At Fulton Farms, Melissa trains both horse and rider using her intuitive gifts to guide the connection between the two. She is also a certified equine masseuse and judge.

Melissa’s evolving relationship to self has created more intimate relationships with her spiritual family, bringing her great fulfillment and joy. She also has a divine partnership with Sean Kalember, a being that carries the same vibration of gentleness and quiet strength that she does. Melissa has a unique ability to love and care for animals, and enjoys time spent with Mimi, Boxter, and Juts, her equine and feline friends.  

Paige Fulton

Paige recognized the system of the Mind at a very young age and grew up with the knowing that the reality being created around her was not real. She did not understand why humans seemed to live in an illusion and have such a lack of love and compassion for themselves and one another. This, coupled with her inability to communicate her knowing of what was real, created discomfort for many years. In her search for understanding and relief, she earned a degree in religious studies at UCLA, which in the end brought her no closer to the answers she sought. Un-thwarted by this outcome, she continued to seek truth, with the deep knowing that her life’s purpose involved helping to plant the seeds of change that will one day unite the world into one knowing, one peace, one love.

Since early childhood, Paige has been joyfully immersed in the equine world. During her college years, she began to pursue a career in this field, with a focus on training horses and managing her own private show barn. The development of this path eventually brought her to northern California, where she met Gay Kalember, who became her spiritual teacher. With Gay’s guidance, Paige has been able to deepen into and expand beyond her knowledge of truth, which has taken her closer to fulfilling her life’s purpose.

In her role as owner and riding instructor at Fulton Farms in Sebastopol, California, Paige is able to communicate her spiritual knowledge to her students by encouraging them to treat one another, themselves, and their equine partners with love and compassion. She invites her students to see their horses as more then a vehicle to ride, by understanding and feeling them as forces of love in a personal collaboration with humans for a mutual experience of respect, joy, and fulfillment. Her hope is that her students will walk away with a better understanding of who they and their equine friends really are, and that her teachings will transfer into their everyday lives, allowing them to interact on a deeper and more authentic level with those with whom they come into contact.

Cathy Amann

Cathy spent her life from the time she was born until 1999 in a predominant state of numbness and fear,  the only defense she understood against cruelty.  She experienced enduring violence as a child and adolescent, and verbal and emotional abuse as an adult. Throughout her survival years, she held onto the knowing of who she really is, and what love is. As a married adult, Cathy moved to many residences in the United States, all the while searching for a healer who could bring her relief from the emptiness she felt inside.

In 1999, she settled in Northern California, where unbeknownst to her she would find her spiritual teacher, Gay Kalember, who would guide her back to her real self and all that is true. The first time Cathy met Gay, she had instantaneous soul recognition, for they were old friends. From that day forward, Cathy’s exodus from her life of deprivation has been deep and consistent. The teachings of Gay and the masters, joined with Cathy’s tenacious spirit, brought her into a state of joy she had never experienced before.  Cathy is no longer enduring life, she is celebrating it.  She is a living example of how choosing love and truth can take you from a world of pain into a world of comfort.

Cathy’s spirit has always longed to help others, especially children, which prompted her to earn a master’s degree in speech and language pathology, which she practiced in Washington State and Hawaii until 1990.

Cathy has been close to Gay and Adrianna since the beginning of their spiritual unfoldment with the masters. She was a member of the first group lead by Gay that explored the truths and laws given by their ethereal teachers.  Her generosity of time and energy has had a significant influence on the creation of the Choose the Heart organization.  Cathy lives in Sebastopol, California, with her daughter, Hope, and her feline companion, Rusty.

Odette Orozco

Ever since Odette was a child, she had a deep knowing that there was more to life than what met the eye. As a youth, she was brought up in the epitome of dysfunction, and looked within herself for comfort and the knowing that God is within everyone. Yet as she grew up the cruelty of the world proved stronger than her ability to feel and know herself. Becoming her personality, she slowly disconnected from her authentic core.

Despite this, her strong knowing and desire to help others remained prevalent. She took on roles of peer assistant, listener, and conflict manager to bring comfort to the lives of others. This inspired her to seek greater understanding of humanity and herself, leading to the study of metaphysics, shamanism, and graphology (the study of handwriting). She later enrolled at UC San Diego to become a psychotherapist. There, she was disillusioned by the medical aspects of psychology, and shifted her focus of study to religion and cultures of the world. Still, she did not find the answers to her heart’s deepest questions.

Within these years a great sadness built up within Odette. She lived in isolation and despair, where nothing was ever enough, much less herself. She found the temporal solution from the pain she felt in numbing agents, and withdrew herself from the world.  Even so, she continued to seek truth and a spiritual teacher that could guide her back to her divine self wherein comfort, knowledge, and greatness resided. That day came when she met Gay Kalember. Odette immediately began studying the Heart and the Mind form which has since transformed her life. With Gay’s help, Odette remembered love. She realized that she is not a victim of the world but rather, the creator of it. Odette now lives from this sacred knowing, rejoicing in life and all that her heart desires. She is currently beginning her practice in BREEMA® (therapeutic bodywork), and enjoys singing, cooking, gardening, and traveling. She lives in Santa Rosa, California with her partner Jonah, puppy Star, and kitty Chia.
